Excellent Resource

This is an excellent publication for folks, such as myself, that didn't have a good understanding of the technical world. When people would suggest that I do this or that on the computer, most of the time I didn't have a clue what they were referring to. After reading Speaking Geek and continuing to use it as a reference book, I am much more confident joining in a technical conversation.

A godsend or a signpost

This book will either be a godsend or a signpost for anyone not up-to-date in the Internet Revolution.
Essentially, what is happening today is virtually identical to what happened when the printing press was invented. Now, like then, the basic paradigm has shifted and the result, then and now, is get on board or be left behind.
For some this book is a godsend. Relative to less than 20 years ago, access to information and opinion is unlimited. All one needs is understanding on how to obtain it. While this book is not a tutorial on how to obtain it, it will decode the technogeek code that is used in all explanations of Internet procedures. It is well written by someone who knows how to teach, to explain in non-technical terms what a particular term means. It is equally useful to simply read from cover to cover or to use as a dictionary to decode the technobabble that geeks spew.
For others, the book will be trivial. It's greatest benefit will a signpost pointing to the bobology website ([...] There you will find more detaile education on complex targets ranging from iPhone use to succesfully using social media in marketing efforts.
However, there is a trap! You may think you are up to date on current technical terms when you are, in fact, not! 99cents is a small price to pay to find out.
